Financial analysts provide guidance regarding investment decisions
Outlook: Employment of financial analysts is expected to increase 20 percent over the 2008-18 decade, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Pay: The 2,210 financial analysts in the Seattle-Bellevue-Tacoma area earned a median wage of $80,580 in 2008.
The job: These professionals assess stocks, bonds, commodities and other types of investments to provide guidance to businesses and individuals making investment decisions. They work for banks, insurance companies, pension funds, securities firms and other businesses.
Training/licensing: A bachelor’s degree is a must; many positions require a master’s degree in finance or a Master of Business Administration.
