Employers don't have to give two weeks for a lay off why should I bother giving two weeks to them? It's considered courtesy for employees to do it but not employers, that's bull.

Dude: I definitely agree, and think it is sad that it isn't a two way street. But finding and gaining employment down the road will be easier if you do. There is always the benefit of giving two weeks and having nothing to do (easy paychecks!). Also more and more employers are starting to thank you for the two weeks, and let you go at that moment (with the two weeks worth of pay of course).
