My First Job: Donna Shirey, president, Shirey Contracting

Current position: President, Shirey Contracting, a family-owned company specializing in custom homes and commercial facilities.
First job: Working at a butcher shop owned by my family in Cleveland.
What I learned: The values of discipline, commitment and consistency in the work that I do. The importance of a strong work ethic and the significance of reusing and recycling to save money and conserve. Those lessons combined really are the backbone of my business today.
