My First Job: Jim Dow
|
Now: Executive
Then: Laborer
Current position: Partner, Schuchart/Dow, a residential construction company
First job: My first real job was a summer helper/laborer for my older sister's boyfriend, carrying concrete form boards, tying rebar and digging, digging and more digging.
What I learned: I learned to always do what I say I'm going to do and when I said I was going to do it. I watched my first boss not do this and saw how it frustrated his clients. I realized how important it is to honor your promises and keep your clients and business associates informed. I also learned I never want to carry heavy, smelly foundation forms again.
