Patrick Welch

Current position: Co-founder and owner of CHEKWellness.com, a Bellevue-based online and personal service provider of lifestyle-enhancing exercise, nutrition and stress-reduction programs.

First job: Working on a farm/horse ranch.

How I got the job: My parents thought that a job that involved working with animals would encourage and foster empathy. "Putting my back into my living," as my dad liked to quote from The Who.

What I learned: Working closely with the horses and out on the farm instilled in me an awareness of the balance that exists in nature.
