My First Job: Ronny Bell, president of Pioneer Organics
|
Current position: President of Pioneer Organics, which home delivers fresh-grown organic produce and natural groceries.
First job: Camp counselor at a summer sports camp in Equinunk, Pa. At age 16, I was in charge of seven 6-year-old kids making sure they ate well, slept well and kept a clean cabin. I was also the camp's hockey coach, teaching more than 200 kids how to play roller hockey.
How I got the job: Every summer when my parents were ready to go on vacation, off to summer sports camp I'd go. Since I was a camper all during my childhood, becoming a counselor was a natural transition.
What I learned: How to be a leader, to get people to believe in you and to do what you need them to do. I also learned that as a leader you have the power to influence people with every action you take.
