My First Job: Stacy Wood, guest services manager
|
Current position: Meydenbauer Center guest services manager; responsible for selling and coordinating events, banquets and meetings.
First job: Stocker in Brass Plum at Nordstrom.
How I got the job: I was a member of the Nordstrom Fashion Board my senior year of high school, and they recruited members in the summer when they needed extra help.
What I learned: How important merchandising can be to an establishment, as well as the importance of customer service. I realized that the key to keeping customers satisfied and getting repeat customers is to make each and every customer feel important regardless of the amount they are spending. If you can't provide customers exactly what they are looking for, you should take the time to find and suggest other options. I have been able to apply the quality and service standards that I learned at Nordstrom to every other postion I've worked in.
