Prachi Vora of Issaquah has won a career makeover, courtesy of NWjobs.com. As the winner, Vora will receive personalized advice from three local career
experts: Hire Ground columnist Paul Anderson of ProLango, Recruiter’s Inbox columnist Kristen Fife and WorkSource Redmond’s Seia Milin.
Three past career-makeover participants ― Kelli Derum, Julianne Hake and George Williams ― have all reported progress since their stories were featured in May and earlier this month.
Derum, who had been unemployed since 2009, credits the makeover with helping her land a contract position at Amazon as well as upcoming interviews for permanent positions.
Hake, who is trying to return to the workforce after six years at home with her kids, says she has a second interview with one company and a first interview with another.
Williams, whose previous job had been outsourced, reports that he’s using federal retraining benefits to take a course in the database language SQL.
He says that he’s expanded his job search and has an interview set up in his hometown of Albuquerque, N.M.
