Pay: Postal Service mail carriers earned an average of $43,860 a year or $21.09 an hour in the Seattle-Everett-Bellevue area in 2007, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. Post-office clerks earned an average $44,020; and mail sorters, processors and processing-machine operators averaged $42,850. Most jobs are unionized, with benefits.
Demand: Many jobs will become available for clerks and carriers, because of population growth, and to replace those who retire or leave.
Need to know: The U.S. Postal Service employed 80,000 clerks, 338,000 mail carriers and 198,000 mail sorters, processors and processing-machine operators in 2006. Most of them worked full time. Those seeking these jobs can expect keen competition.
Getting in: Applicants must pass a Postal Service examination and then may wait one to two years or longer to be hired. Applicants must also pass a physical examination and drug test, and may be asked to show that they can lift and handle mail sacks weighing 70 pounds. Those seeking mail-carrier positions must receive a passing grade on a road test. Postal Service workers often begin on a part-time, flexible basis and become regular or full time in order of seniority.

My question to you is:
I am an RCA as well as a PMR in Michigan. Looking to move to Washington/Seattle, surrounding area.
Are there any positions I can transfer into there and if so, can you let me know what cities would allow or be open.
Thank you,
Ms. McLean

You should stay where you are or, go to a diffrent state, I am in the mailing business and there are NO jobs like that in this state. As a matter if fact I am moving from this state, we pay the higest gas tax in the country....and jobs are scarce at best or you are underpaid
