What This Job Pays: restaurant assistant manager
Pay: The median pay of a restaurant assistant manager in the Seattle area is $39,135 a year, according to PayScale, a Seattle company that tracks compensation and benefits.
Demand: About as fast as average for all occupations over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition to job openings arising out of employment growth, the need to replace managers who transfer to other occupations or stop working will create many job opportunities. Although practical experience is an integral part of finding a food-service management position, applicants with a degree in restaurant, hospitality or institutional food-service management will have an edge; those with higher-level degrees should have the best opportunities.
