This actually happened to my husband and I recently (or so we thought). He was paid about $500 more in a check for outside work than we expected. We did debate for a few hours, because we had some house repairs that were crucially needed, but after just a few hours he got on his email to let the employer know he thought there was a discrepency. Turned out he had worked more than he remembered, so yay! We couldn't have felt good continuing to work with this employer and not having said something.
