Yesterday's Back to Work networking event, sponsored by the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), not only brought together 350 of the region's top tech job seekers and career placement specialists, it also was the launch pad for a new online employment resource: the WTIA Job Center.
Created as a resource to help connect tech firms with the Seattle area's huge pool of qualified job seekers, the Job Center is free to use for both WTIA members and nonmembers to post resumes and search for available jobs among the region's top firms. WTIA member companies are allowed to post job listings free of charge while nonmember firms may publish listings for 60 days on the site for $75. Those who attended yesterday's workshops are also eligible for a $95 individual membership to WTIA, which is half the standard rate.
"While the economy may be showing signs of improvement, many qualified professionals in our industry still face a real challenge finding work," said WTIA president Ken Myer in a statement. "We want to help them and anyone else who is interested in joining our industry post their resumes and see available positions."
As of this posting, the WTIA Tech Center already had more than 100 job seekers signed up to view 182 jobs listed from 621 employers. Some of the tech firms signed on to the new service include F5 Networks, which hosted the Back to Work event, along with Altigeo, Aztecsoft-Mindtree, Big Fish Games, BluWater Consulting, Bsquare, Columbia Hospitality, Concur Technologies, Daptiv, Dept of Info Services WA, Expedia, iLink Systems, Inrix, Matrix Resources, Microsoft, Pariveda Solutions, Parker HealthcareIT, Proactive Staffing, RealNetworks, Robert Half Technology, ServerLogic, SolutionsIQ, Vadium Voice Communications, Vertafore, VestaLabs, Volt Engineering, Volt Technical and Creative, Xtreme Consulting Group and Zillow.com.
To register and find out more details about the WTIA employment listings, visit the WTIA Job Center Web site.
