Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services

Known as the "Harborview for pets," this Lake City animal hospital has already been recognized for its business excellence by the Mayor's Small Business Award in 2008, and this year as one of 55 businesses nationwide selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to receive a Blue Ribbon Small Business Award. Now its employees have spoken as well. "The owners set very high standards for patient care and services, treat us very well and make sure we have everything we need to excel at our job," one worker raves.

The job can be intense at this 24-hour trauma center. But its 63 doctors, technicians, administrators and support staff know they're providing an important service to the community and are determined to do it well. And with lots of continuing education, strong teamwork and a drawer stocked full of healthy snacks for the employees, morale is sky-high.
