Being able to work from home on their own schedules is a lifesaver for many working parents, as the employees of RealCom can attest. "It's a special benefit to know that your employer trusts you to get the results you need without micromanaging you," says one employee. The small Bellevue company of 60, which provides wireless systems development and staffing services to telecommunication companies, government entities and others, also makes sure to provide extra support for its working parents. On top of the medical, dental and vision coverage for themselves and their dependents and domestic partners, employees appreciate extras like a $1,500 orthodontia subsidy for kids, an employee assistance program and three days of paid bereavement time off, in addition to their regular three to four weeks of vacation. As convenient as it is to work from home, though, the office is pretty enticing for the whole family, with Xbox and Guitar Hero, lots of kickball games and a Bring Your Child to Work Day. Says one worker, "We have the option to work at home, but I like coming to the office to see everyone every day!"
